Website Optimization
Ecommerce websites are ever changing. Requiring constant updating and optimization to keep up with industry standards. While I have been the designer for many many of these projects, there is one project that stands out in my mind. This is what we call the Perks Footer (left).
My team was tasked with coming up with a quick and easy way for the user to see what offers and benefits were available to them by shopping sunglasshut.com. After resarching other retailers such as Banana Republic, Victoria's Secret and Sephora, I noticed many of them incorpated some sort flyout or rotator that housed all of their daily offers and brand promises.
Just during the testing phase and first few months of living on the desktop site, this footer generated $1MM of incremental sales with a significant increase in conversion from the homepage. Proving to be quite a success.
When you click through to the site from the image, you'll also notice a small tab at the bottom of your browser that anchor links you to the footer. This feature was a key contributor to the success of the design.
